So I am on Windows 7 64-bit and used Windows Live Movie Maker to load up one of my videos for use on the xbox360. I tried to copy the specs from a video that does work on the xbox and everything is the same:

Video:
1280 x 720
5120kbps data rate
25 frames / second

Audio:
64kbps bit rate
stereo
44kHz sample rate

And this does not work on the xbox, it simply makes things go slow and does not show the video. Am I using the wrong program to make these videos or am I doing something wrong? I would love to do a video tutorial on this, but need to get it figured out first.

i think it has something to do with variable bit-rate it either has to have it or must not have it.
and the .wmv file size has to be under 4 or 5mb and 1280x720 or under

I used Windows Live Movie Maker to do my wmv files..

In the attached file are 2 profiles i use for my tabs and backgrounds

The video codec and audio codec must be version 9 the latest release of WLMM using V10 for the audio which causes lots of problems with video files in FSD (or at least it did for me)

These profiles will fix that..

install these to the following directorys

X64
C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Photo Gallery\Video Profiles

X86
C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Photo Gallery\Video Profiles

Enjoy..

you can change the bit rate but this will increase the video size.. these are optimised and i use these for my own skins.

No need to downgrade the files are configure to use the V9 audio codec Icon_smile

Glad i could help i have been meaning to post these for a long time took me weeks to sort it out myself.. Icon_smile
