TRANSARENT BACKGROUNDS ARE BLACK ON MY ICONS. WHY ?
Ok Here we go. My transparent backgrounds are showing up black instead of
transparent and I cant figure out why. Is it cause im using it in the background tab boxes ? Does it have to be aplied to the icons. Im lost has anyone figured this out. Its probaly a simple encoding issue. Even maybe I need to try using something besides the software that Im using. Im using GIMP 2.6 and PNG format. If this is wrong please let me know. I will get the nessecary software needed to do this. Any help with this would be very much apreiciated.

PLEASE HELP

If it is just the icons you are trying to change and they are showing black, then you must not be saving them correctly with an alpha channel. Look online to try and find some tutorials for GIMP or try another graphics program. If the images do have transparency but show up with black in FSD, then it could be an issue in FSD. RE: TRANSARENT BACKGROUNDS ARE BLACK ON MY ICONS. WHY ?
Im not sure what it is the TAZ works right but ELMER FUDD or any of the others do not. Im not sure why when I upload them here they bolth show up transparent but on my dashboard the only one that works right is Taz. The rest show up with black backgrounds instead of the checkered transparent or shall I say invisible background you would see when photoshoping your image. May I ask what software you use that might make the difference. I completely understand what you mean by alpha channel because thats what I did to them using Gimp but still dont know what is making it appear with this black background they are all PNG files so I know its not the format, and I read jsjars post but dont fully understand the walkthrough. I will get a screen shot so you can see what I mean. Notice that Taz has no black behind his hand and foot because he works correctly the only reason there is any black behind him is because of the Elmer Fudd tab has the black background. Which is transparent but apparently not according to the Xbox.

It is because the color flags are not set correct on the tabs, read through the post in the link jsjar posted again.

Yes! You guys are the bomb. It worked I thought maybe because of my wording earlier JsJar didn't understand what I exactly ment but it turns out he was right on the money as always. You two never cease to amaze me damn you guys are the shit. Without you guys Spiffy 360 would never be such a sweet success. Its because of guys like you theese forum sites remain to be so epic. Thanks again guys! It worked! This is also reassuring to find out because it lets me know that GIMP 2.6 works well for this and that it wasn't that I needed to be using some other type of photo editing software.
This is the answer for any followers following my footsteps.
