First of all I Love MetroStyle and FSD!! Thanks to EVERYONE involved in making this possible, especially Freakazoid, Idefix, Hacklink, Darkmurf, Team FSD, the 'scene', and Spiffy360!!

What do you think, and would people use this theme? If this turns out well I can convert some of the older themes to this new (and awesome) MetroStyle.. (I have one major bug to fix right now, plus Idefix just released 3.3 today.)

Now just to figure out a good name for the skin... LoL.

I want to use MetroStyle 3.2 as a base and create a theme/skin for it. I already am working on it, but am very new and teaching myself how/what to do. I was just wanting to make sure IF I decided to post it here that it'd be ok. Here are some things im looking to modify in my created Boondock Saints skin:

On boot, XboX goes to the Games tab by default..
Popup after boot will say skin name &' thanks' also..
Spam button turned to a Thank You button ;)..
Spam inside spam button changed to Thank You text..
Media changed (Music, Videos, Backgrounds)..
XboX Basics Button with solid background..
XboX Classics button/icon removed and changed to Kinect..
Kinect button changed to homebrew..

Also am thinking if this turns out well I can convert some of the older themes to this new (and awesome) MetroStyle..

As long as you get permission to use the MetroStyle skin as a base it generally isn't and issue and obviously give credit where its due..

As for your options you want.. most should be able to be done but your probs going to have to play around with it a bit...

for the popup... try creating a new Main.xur for the popup and rename your existing one to MainDash.xur or something.. then you cna configure a button on the popup to take you to MainDash.xur.. that would be the simplest that i can think of... been a while since i skinned..

You could configure a new popup thought the XML also and have this pop on default.. so there are a couple of options...

All this talk is wanting me to come out of retirement lol

Vids and backgrounds are easy you should be good to do that part

same with the Tab changes for Xbox 1 and Kinect.. i have a couple tuts floating around they should help..

Thanks Murf!! I have already added this all to the skin, just didnt know where to ask for permissions, so was hoping i could reach them here... thanks for all the info also!

Right now the only bug I can see (that I made) is the 'Now Playing' speaker icon after the text...looks like the positioning maybe hard coded..trying to figure out how to slide it left or right..

Yea as long as they give permission (which they should, Idefix and Freakazoid are great guys) then you are more then welcome to share your modifications on the site. Feel free to send them a PM through the site (Admin / Messages on the menu) or wait for a response here. If you do not hear from them within a long period of time such as 3 weeks or so, it may be OK to post it up as long as you credited them and then should they have issues with it, it can be removed.

We are a community and should embrace each others work and contributions. The more choices we have to customize our systems, the better!

Nice.. :-) Idefix gave me permission today, now to hopefully get the 'ok' from freakazoid also. (C.Y.A.).

looks ok so far, not my style but pretty well arranged. (I think you know my Style already )
I recommend using the actual v3.3.1 at the moment as it has a couple of main features improved/changed.
Also the upcomming v3.4 will have the fsd crashing bug when dvd gets ejected by pressing X almost completely sorted out and DVD-Game-Title will be displayed on the Launch Game button.
So....
please wait for your "releases" until the skin hits final stage

Here's a little help for you:
To modify the speakers you have to take a look on the "main_music1-15" files, you'll find a "NowPlayingScene"...
The Speakers are animated and have to be rearrenged between "normal" & "endnormal" (dont know how much you already know about XuiTool...) to fit Artist & Title name.
XuiTool isnt very user friendly at first but you will make it if you are desperate enough

Thanks for the info!! Wasnt sure as the .xml worked for the 1st one... (almost)... Not as hard as I first thought. ;-)
Its looking much better now, thanks... and yes, I will not release anything (except the screens above).. until you 'ok' it to be released (on 3.4 or higher).

I cannot thank you enough for this wonderful skin.. and hopefully I'll give a good representation of your work... also I have added the riot.wmv to the spam button.. which now says 'Thanks'... if that is ok (icon is still the same). If not will put the spam info back in with the riot.wmv.

I am just glad to see more people getting interested in skinning and modifying some themes. We need to get some more choices around here I really need to go back to my old themes and get them updated as well.

Ok,
(n00b here).. how do I change which wallpaper this theme will default to when you hit 'reset skin settings'. I know it reverts to wallpaper_3, but was wanting it to always default to wallpaper_1. Ive found some instances of wallpaper_3 in the .xui's but for some reason cannot find (in .xml or .xui) which file has the "default skin wallpaper".
